Our cars aren't light. You need torque to get a better 60' time.

okay, given the VN pulley will spin faster - that will help at idle, but will it try to destroy the alternator at higher rpm?

Richie.

It probably only brings the alternator RPM closer to standard, so it should be right.

Yeah, Terry has taken the binary code and getting it cracked, then it should be all good but I have to wait til I get back from work again in another 4 weeks... I really wanted it done this time around! It's just been one of those weeks

Underdrives are in, with twEECer, 70 or 75mm maf and Defilipo extractors.

I got the call today to say it's tuned up and ready to go with 210rwhp. Before the tune, maf or underdrives it was 167rwhp. Both dyno runs were on stinking hot days too.

I get to drive it on Sunday when I get back and hopefully get it down to the quarter on Wednesday night to see if I can get it off the line a bit better and have me a decent run.

Sounds very nice mate, good results. You can always trust Terry when it comes to tuning your ford.
My engine will be in the shop within the next couple of weeks.
Let us know how it drives when you get chance to do so.

Jeff

Jeff, is it your ute that's in there at the moment? I haven't seen it but I had to get another pooter that would work with the twEECer and Terry was saying the one he got was the same as a ute that they have there.

What engine have you got coming for it? That's the next thing... either crate motor then supercharger or vice versa... still deciding

Nah mate, thats another customers ute with a heavily modified 5.0 in it.

Not getting another engine for mine, just pulling mine out and sending it off to Terry along with a big bunch of parts for him to assemble etc. Then pick it up and bring it home, drop it back in my ute, get it started then send it back off to Terry for him to fit the twEECer and tune it, then should all be sweet.

Check my thread in here called "Heads & Cam"

Ah cool. How much do you save by removing and reinstalling the motor yourself?

I read your thread. I've read a couple of articles on those heads in the past couple of weeks now and am thinking of taking that course myself. What power is your ute at now?

In the time you've had the underdrives fitted, have you noticed any change in the water temp or voltage?

Not sure on how much i'd be saving by removing and installing, probly bout 5 hours labour or something close to that.

Yeah a nice set of alloy heads and a camshaft change really brings the windsor to life, definately somethin to consider in the future mate, plenty of info on the forums and net, especially on the US mustang sites etc.

Since ive had the underdrives i havent noticed an increase in engine temp but i have noticed it doesnt charge to well at idle. Not a real concern though unless you spend alot of time idling before you shut the engine off. Charges as normal at approx 1200rpm and above. i have recently installed a bit of a stereo upgrade, including two amps and while tuning the stereo at idle my volt guage on dash almost dropped into the orange, nothing a quick rev up to 1200rpm and holding for approx 30 secs didnt fix.

Ah cool, so nothing that I should worry about. Hopefully I can get down to Kwinana this Wed and see how I go down at the strip with a bit of a launch method... I'll probably need a new clutch after it, but you get that!

I have noticed a voltage drop when idling with lights on, stereo on and aircon blasting on these warm evenings. I have one of the newer Pioneer head units which has a voltage meter as one of the options for screensaver type thing and it drops down to 11v at times so have to keep the revs at around 900 at idle to keep it in the mid 12s. Will get the idle with aircon adjusted tomorrow thru the twEECer which will hopefully solve that problem

Well come on mate, How do ya reckon she goes?
Much of an improvement in the seat?

Was quite suprised last week when i put the ute on the dyno, it made 211.2rwhp as is. I reckon that might have been abit of a generous dyno, will have to see what she pulls with the new heads etc.
