There isn't enough compression to warrant bigger or different cams on a standard Boss 260. With your hard earnt, there are better mods for your Boss.

There's not much in the way of cams for the BOSS.

You can get a GT spec cam, or a wilder cam if you've got a 290 to begin with. But as mentioned above, there's not much gain to be had from cams.

The 4V heads flow enough air for ~300RWKW n/a (and much more than that f/i).

Herrod do cam packages. And I think either Crow/Wade do cams too (probably where Herrod get theirs from).

If you're after sound, what exhaust do you have now. A full DiFilipo 'big boy' system sounds great (I know).

Big boy system does sound good :) The cost alone to updrade just the cams would not even come close to justifing the note of a grumpy cam.

If you go and rebuild the bottom end ie use good rods and some high comp pistons, you could then make the most from a set of cams. There is really no point doing cams if you dont have the compression.

I know of a spec engine that got built for someone in Queensland with Comp Cams. Sounded f**k horn with no exhaust!

How much have you got to spend and are you doing the work yourself or getting a shop to do it? I think parts alone you're looking at around 2-2.5k, add labour after that plus tuning, and after all that you get f**k all gain for the money spent unless you do the bottom end with 11:1 compression.

ide be getting a shop to do it if at all.. but i reading what it says and i wonder if the cam gear timing could be changed on the stock cams... maybe ford have them set to not be fully open so what would be holding back power.. so my question is would it give me any power gain with just a ajustable cam timing set on my stock cam????
