Hi all,

Im wanting to upgrade the air intake snorkel on my fairmont. I had thought of an EL XR8/GT or AU XR8 snorkel? Does anyone know what the best solution would be?

Cheers
Pat

EL XR8/GT is fine, no modifications to the snorkel.

AU xr8 is a tad bigger i think, but u will have to drill some more holes and slightlybend the snorkel pipe a touch.

IMO EL XR/GT is the right one.

Are EL XR/GT snorkels easy to get a hold of and roughly how much will I be looking at?

Cheers

Yeah I wasn't going to go the pod filter, but a good K&N panel.

Is the Tickford snorkel just as wide etc?

Cheers

heres a pic of how big it is

with the knN pannel n tickford snorkle u should get a 1-4kw gain.. with a pod n poperly sealed (next to impossible for the average joe) should get around 10-15...

dont bother with pod, the factory box is MASSIVE compared to like 200sx, skylines etc.... just get a hi flow pannel n maintain it every service.. save ur money for exaust etc.

Thanks mate, photos help alot.

The tickford one that you have looks adequate enough.

I'll do this intake mod first as it is relatively cheap, then off to the exhaust shop :)

You can fit the AU 3 XR snorkel easy as mentioned before drill new holes in the snorkel & turn the snorkel so it wont hit the power steering pump as the snorkel is in my 5.0L & YOBBOFORDZ old 5.0L o0r use a heat gun on it to melt & bend it.
