Ford found a cracked firewall and are refusing to cover it under the 12 month warranty I got with the car.

Does anyone know for almost certain if this should be covered under warranty?

They quoted around $900 to repair the firewall, does this sounds about right?

How hard is it to repair at home?

whereabouts is the crack? if it's around where the clutch cable goes in - not saying they will but, they should have to cover it, i've had the same prob on both my EBs, xf xg, EAs, ELs etc and I've seen it through most models too, they denied it was a common problem but their own panel shop told me they had reinforcement plates in stock to weld in. my last one wasn't that bad so they were able to weld without removing the booster.

From what he said it was where the adjustment bolt goes thru.

I asked this once, and Im checking just because I had a look at my EB and the firewall seems like it was originally going to do the same...

The XD/E/F cable clutch falcons had a plate that was bolted in there which had the clutch cable stuff in it.. Can that be used instead of welding it up?

Tell Fraud that you'll contact Consumer Affairs if they don't pull their finger out and fix physical wear & tear under warranty.
