hay all

might just be over worried but i just wanna make sure that its not a problem or not going to be a problem.. my mech knowelege is fuk all.. so i hope use can help me..

Problem No 1

i try and start the car it will crack over for about 15 seconds and wont start... try it again it will start.... what would be causing it to not start first go???? it only happens when the car sits for a while... i have had a compression test and came back excellent i had a full electronic test inc battery starter and altnator and all good.. fuel pump was tested and fine placed a new fuel filter in it..

Problem No 2

car at idle while at lights seems to have a miss in it... and sometimes its enough to stall.. not sure if its related to problem 1 but could be...

Problem No 3
its auto and while cruising it seems to hold gears a bit to long i think but still changes smoothly when it wants to change... when i give it a boot full not a problem at all..

problem 4

maybe a oil pressure problem first time i have noticed this happen...
on start up not a problem sits just abit above half...
after about 30-40min of driving it drops down to just about the red marked area at idle only..
is this normal ??? its not in the red just 1 bar above only at idle... i put my foot down and it moves up to about half way... pull up to a stop and it slowly moves back down to the 1 bar above the red...

Problem 4 seems to have been fixed

i hope use can help me

my EL Motor had a slight miss every now and then at idle and while cruising, spark plugs and leads fixed this. while accelerating had no problem

Do the plugs first, then go from there.
My v8 was missing at low revs and idling rough, but it was fine under hard acceleration.turned out to be a dodgy sparkplug

With the oil pressure problem first id check out your oil pressure sensor, they do tend to need replacing from time to time. They cost about $50-$60 from Ford. Also you said the car was due for a service.. Old and worn out oil will cause bad oil pressure too especially once it has got at a decent running temp (not at intial startup).

Mabe while your under the car draining the oil/replacing the oil filter you can have a look at the oil pressure sensor.

Also most EF's/EL's tend to do the same thing when pulling up to a stop light etc, the oil pressure drops lower, then after acelerating it picks up again. I think this sort of thing is normal for most..

Definately change your plugs/leads and you may find that it fixes your other problems too!

Also check the colour/state of your trans fluid, if the trans is in need of a service it will usually function a bit different. Give it a service with some decent trans oil and it should go fine.

Do you mean wheel bearings? For suspension stuff, speak to BI6TIM off boostedfalcon, or go to City Suspension at Springwood and see him in Person. They do great work at good prices.

Yup City Suspension will also lower the car :) For engine related I've always used UMR Engines at the top of Moss St. They aren't the cheapest but we've personally never had an issue with anything they've done. They've done the head on 2 of our cars as well as port & polish and LPG issues. Ask for Mark or Lindsay there.

Yes. They do anything suspension related, from bushes to custom made springs.
