the one labelled 'where does this go' .....
you will notice near your coil you have 3 stainless/metal pipes. a little clip type thing holds them in place on the coil. 2 of these are the fuel lines. the other is what plugs into the outlet on the explorer.

have you discarded all your EGR setup? there are a lot of vacuum lines that go with that that i just threw in the bin. i have some more pics on fordforums under 'painting rocker covers' of my finished engine. if you need any more specific pics i can zoom into certain areas and post them up. sounds like you are just about there though.

The explorer i have has no EGR (NZ Does not require anything to do with emissions/ EGR things) the HO does, so i will be removing that. Whats involved in taking that stuff out? Basically anything that is not hooked up to the explorer, gets removed? Also once i have hooked up those vac lines, modded my TPS, is there anything else that needs to be done? I'm a bit confused with that "drill number five runner" thing...... what am i drilling and where

the IAT (intake air temp) sensor can go in the intake pipe between maf and t/b i believe. this is why there is no hole for it in the manifold. apparently the au's had it positioned in the intake pipe. maybe if you look at some engine bay pics of au v8's it might show you. i don't know exactly where it goes but this may save you drilling into the manifold.
i'm off to work now (yay night shift) but i'll grab a close up pic of the iat sensor in the manifold if you like so you can see where to drill if you decide to do that.

Ahh i getcha, the pipe i am getting with my MAF has the sensor mounted in the plastic piping just before the throttle body, phew thats my worry over

Oh and also, how is the dust cover mounted on the bellhousing? The top of the metal bracket has a small screw hole, but neither the housing nor the cover have thread, and you cant exactly get your hands in there to tighten it once it is on....

Yeah sorry, just swung off topic there for a sec, for the Manual Bellhousing, the metal cover that covers the hole where the clutch fork meets the cable, how is that secured on? It has a clip on the bottom then screws to the bellhousing, but neither the cover/housing have thread so there is nothing to screw into |

You don't really need the IAT sensor with a MAF setup unless you are boosting the aircharge(turbocharge etc.) and therefor heating it up with compression, then you really need it. The IAT(akaACT) was once mounted on the intake. The boss for it was on #5 on the first series and eliminated on the second series because it was a bad place to put it. It would absorb heat from the engine and not report the correct air temp to the computer. You can tap (drill hole and thread) into your intake tube anywhere within reach of the wire harness to mount it only if you don't boost. If you were running 16# or 19# injectors and are changing to 24# and running the same computer, it should be reflashed with a tuning program. It will run and the computer will compensate the best it can for the 24#, but it won't be the best performance. The computer needs to know what is what and won't know unless you tell it. On its own it can only detect a rich or lean condition and adjust things the best it can based on the tables it knows from the original programing. A chipset for the U.S. might not be the best for you there because of polution laws, find a local tuner that can re-program what you have.

Yeah but the ECU i have is from an EB Falcon GT, ran 24lb injectors STOCK so is already tuned for them. and my IAT is mounted about 20cm from the TB |

the E7's will be the big restriction, find some 40p's or port and polish what you have. It will make a big difference. The 40p's can be a b**ch with the spark plug angle. Best of luck.
