I was just telling XH5LWEPN last week I'm thinking about a Systemax II for my next intake. This just confirms it'll be the right choice for what I'm after. A good read, thanks.

 EBXR8380 is right as some have changed a little.... Yes it's just unfortunate that you can't run the intake facing the passenger side. Of course the article is a little old and the RPM2 was not tested(the RPM1 is basically crap). It'd be interesting to see how this goes because it really copies many of the features of the Holley/Saleen/Vortech design. You can also buy a 5.0 truck lower and use just the Holley upper. |

That rules the Holley out for me then. Unless the battery goes in the boot.

Yes an RPM2 is probably the way to go. Although the boot is a good place for the battery which ever way you go.

It's been a few years now since I built a 347 for an AU2 XR8 but back then I went with the Trickflow because you can flip the upper 180 degrees to face the throttle body to the passenger side, therefore perfect for the Australian Falcon. The TF lower to upper mounting flange is mirrored so the upper goes on either way. Another positive for the TF upper is you can machine the Trickflow wording off easily and create a rectangular depression where you can mount a nameplate such as Tickford or similar. On my 347 fitted with TF heads and teh TF Street Heat, the best outcome was using the TF with a phenolic spacer between upper and lower.

We were talking about the Holley not the TFS. |
