Thought i'd post up pictures of my XF. I finished this project a few months ago. I started with a XF Fairmont Ghia, white in colour, added a body kit (done by my uncle in Recliffe QLD), removed rust, had a respray in 'Blueprint' paint. This was a couple of years ago. It was still running the 250 crossflow, which was heavily modified - pumped out about 175rwhp. Not bad for N/A 250! Also had a 5 speed, and the LSD was done with 3.77 gears...

Earlier this year i blew the clutch. Sick of all the oil leaks and constant money put into the 250 - i sold it - picking up a donor car. It was a 97 model Series 2 XH XR8 ute. Was a very lucky find. (very similar motor to EL XR8)

My car runs EEC V and all electronics from the ute, including smartlock. I also changed the steering columns over. No - i dont have rack and pinion - but it would be good! Used XR fuel pump in my XF tank, XY engine mounts. Engine dropped straight in. Had an issue with air con compressor hitting shock wall tower - so fixed that with a big hammer...
The only things i needed custom was gearbox crossmember (BTR is a bit longer than XF box) and custom extractors (they are hopeless so im getting new ones done)....

Im using XH dash now with EL fairmont cluster and XH centre console. It all bolted straight up. Also threw in some clear tail lights while i was at it.

The car's got the usual stuff done, exhaust, pedders suspension, Alpine/mixed BIG stereo etc....
and of course the car is engineered and legal...

Ive been a member on this site for a while, but never got on it much until now. Theres a lot of useful info - and its good theres a heap of EF/EL V8 lovers on here!

So anyway heres some pics - let us know what u think....
dont ask me how much ive spent i lost count ages ago

A quick glance at the middle picture I thought it was a VK commie!!!!! Sorry for the insult.

Car looks good though. Very nice paint job.

Nice for an XF! Looks like some quality work has gone into it!

You going to get a cold air intake for that beast?
The interior looks in tip top condition. Well done.

Oh yes I like very much. Phill would probably come in his pants very much. This is what I always wanted in an XF. Same coulour too. Just no bodykit and old school 15x8 weld rims with fat rubber and white writing on the sidewalls. How does it go with the new V8 anyway? 14/13 second quarters?

Now just for the trip computer mounting, someone on this site recently posted pictures of a trip computer mounted into the centre console of their XH ute. That would look the part.....
