Just was cuious of how hard it would be to drop a winsor of some sort into a AU Falcon forte. I know the Xr8 came out with the winsor, Im just was looking at an older winsor either something from an XC or XY, finding a set of braces from an AU XR8 and chucking it all in. If anyone has any tips post them up. Thanks

It's easy but of course XC's only had clevelands. Still a cleveland will fit and so will a 351w.

you must mean engine mounts not braces lol
but if you are keen on the early no roller block windsor, you ll have to find one in ever an XR, XT or ealry XW, chances are slim though duno about F-trucks what they had

Ive also been looking at a few EB and EL v8s. I just dont know about the electronics how that would go if i used an older engine compared to a newer one which should have similar connections and sensors.

i was just reading a thread saying you couldnt fit a carby v8 into an el due to emision laws. so you obviously cant fit one into an au.
e series v8's are weak as piss especially the early ones so dont even think about that. your forte's 6 would have more power. have a look around for some au motors. the 220 motor would be a good start

Yeah I do remember reading about the carbyed engines in newer cars. But was also thinking about the EL's too which are pretty piss weak. The car already sounds like a V8 anyway. Might just look for another diff to get it up and running quicker. Does anyone have a spreadsheet for the diff gear ratios in the Ford range. I cannot find it anywhere.

3.45 diff gears are good (came out on xr's etc)
then you can step up to 3.7 or 4.11 if your crazy. you will beat alot of v8's off the line with these ![]() they will real you in eventually though

No but you'd have to do drive cycle and shed emissions tests with the engine you fit if it wasn't stock AU. |

Ouch! Why are people so cruel ![]() As the others have suggested. Get yourself an AU XR8. Check out www.carpoint.com.au. You can pick one up for heaps cheaper than the conversion would cost you. If you are after a sleeper, then pull the XR nosecone off and stick a butt-ugly stock front end on it
