Gday,

I recently bought a toyota Hilux with a holden 5L v8 from a VS (I would have got one with a 302 if i could have found one). The car was pretty cheap and i bought it knowing that it would need some $ thrown at it to get it running right.

Basically it has major probs with the crank, a damaged cam and no compression.

I am not very mechanically minded, so my main concern is to find someone trustworthy that wont rip me off. So far i have looked at COME racing, they do a full stock rebuild for 5k, pretty expensive but got nothn to compare it with.

If anyone could recommend me a quality trustworthy engine rebuilder that can rebuild a 308 to stock spec for not to much that would be great, thanks

if thats 5k including remove and refitting the eng then its not too bad....think it should be closer to 3.5K for a rebuild not including fitting..

all parts for these motors are fairly cheap

I dont think remove and fit should be more than $800
