Just wondering if anyone has had this problem, I have a AU XR8 SeriesI, and when I start the car in the morning the temperature gauge starts off at half and when the car is warmed up it drops to 1/4.

What could be the problem?

Disconnect the temp sensor and see if the problem goes away. It might just be a faulty sensor

I had the same problem, and it was the sensor.
when i replaced, the prob was gone.
