From what i've been told people are happy with them and i haven't heard of any reliability issues from having used one. I will be getting one put in the next week or two, been wanting to get one for the last year but been too lazy :|

The general consensus is that its a worth upgrade power wise but you might want to think about your oil pump gears. More then a few Boss motors have broken them once underdrives have been fitted and thats a thing you really don't want to happen.

I didnt realise any power gains but i noticed the engine reved up easier and faster too.

I got the BPT race kit

You might find a small increase in rwkw but nothing you would notice that much. My understanding is they speed up your accessories so your engine can rev more freely and you won't notice when your air con is on etc.

fnp has a good point, oil gears are a must with modded boss engines and it's really not a pretty site when they let go!

Actually I probably wasn't quite clear in my post above - when I said worthwhile for power you don't so much get more power (little bit maybe) but the other benefit is much improved throttle response.

underdrive pulleys are a set of different sized pulleys, crank, waterpump and alternator. they slow your accesories down so they draw less power from the engine and inturn let the engine rev a bit more freely. they are a good cheap mod for pre au 5ltrs but i cant comment on them for a 5.4ltr.

I've got the BPT set on my GT. The increase in performance is very noticeable...in fact it's the most noticeable bolt on I've done.
