Hey guys wondering what oil people are using in their Au xr8's?
Im currently using Nulon 15w-50 street/track.
What are people thoughts on this oil??
Or should i be using penrite hpr15 or sin?
Any recommendations or suggestions?

Um search the forums. imo oil is same across the board regarding mpfi 6cyls or 8cyls etc. What are you using atm?

How many kms on the engine???

Ive used Nulon 15w-40 and didnt like it so going back to the trusty Valvoline OILS AINT OILS

I used the Nulon as 2 forum members swore that they got 40-50kms more per tank and bottel says 36% friction but didnt work in my engine and i lost 30-40kms per tank.

Im going back to Valvoline Dura blend semi syntheic 15w-50 which i highly recommend or Penrite HPR 15 which my bro uses and he loves it.

Dont be scraed using a oil abit thicker than what ur book says as it protects the engine and if alot kms on it wont chew through the oil.

Note that with all Valvoline oils i have used always gave great oil pressure

103K kms just done a cam upgrade, ported the upper and lower intakes, ported gt40p heads, valve train upgrade kit, new lifters, 1.72 RR's and 70mm T/B..... Im just not to sure if the street and track nulons for me? Seems to be givin me a bit of valve train noise..... And have now heard that full synthetic oil with additives can slow or stop even the lifter bearing from spinning and the roller rocker one also? Becoming more like a slide than a roll?

Definatly go semi synthetic like i suggested

U will like either of the oils

I have also noticed some noise since using Nulon

i also use Nulon 15w-50 street/track and i still get 750km/tank and i thinks its a decent oil and its made in Australia. but the thing that worries me is in the small print at the bottom of the bottle "prolonged and repeated contact with used engine oils may cause skin cancer".

yep it can cause skin cancer...
its a warning on most brand oils if not all....

Iam also using this oil, i have no complaints with it at all. I get good performance and even thou i have a couple of noisy lifters, it is still better than the previous oil i was using which was castrol fully synth.

However i would also recommend Penrite or even Pennzoil 15w-50 or 15w-40.

I use HPR15 (15w-60) in my AU 347 stroker. Seems to do the job.
