Been thinkin bout starting a retro project on an XD/XE.

Was tihnking for something different, getting my hands on a fuel injected 5 litre from say an EF XR8.

How hard would it be to get one of these into the XD bay? With the right engine mounts would it fit in the no worries?
And of course the whole wiring loom and ECU would go with it, but is there a whole lot to be done to get the motor in there?

Cheers

i was thinkin hard bout it, as you can get an XD/XE pretty cheap, rebuild the EFI 5 ltire with stroked internals, bit of headwork and a wicked cam, twin throttles, and a stalled up auto with shift kit n whatnot, Rebuilt Diff, mini spool and 3.9's, would go pretty hard

I loev the idea of retro, like sprayin the car silver with a blue/pink pearl, some nice GT rims or somethin say... NL Fairlane leather seats, autometer dash and custom trims, billet grill.

I reckon it would look trick

yeh it would be nice, the auto will fit 2, i crambed a 460 stroked to 510ci with a 671 blower into a xf pannel van, pain in the a** but worth it.

thanks mate

got my idea from a black HR ute in street machine, under the hood was a nice looking 215kw 5.7L stroker from a VS GTS, i thought...hmm, a ford retro would be awsome, you dont see a whole heap of em getting around anyhow.

Well when time and money permits, the project shall start!
