Hey all,
I got hold of the outback d**k seat and a diagram from ford showing basic installation.
What I need is a few photos of the seat installed.
Does anyone have this seat in their ute?
I need to see how the centre consol is modded as well. :?

My XH finally has a door.
Drove 100 ks to see a bloke who just happened to mention he had an XG in pieces in his yard.
I told him I would be there in an hour lol.

Thanks

Hey Ash, thanks.
I really want to keep the front half of my console ( it has a trip computer in it) I will wait and see. If nothing pops up I will make it up!!

^^^^^Smart fella . . . . I'm thinking of moving my TC.

Is it just the bench seat ??? - there's no console due to the column shift.
Outbacks have a back and bottom cushion that fit between the bucket seats.
The 'console' is a raised surround that goes around the gearshift - it doesn't go to the dash, as it's standalone.

Ahhh, OK
Well I have buckets and the seat that goes in between.
I will just have to modify the current console.
I still want to keep my trip computer.
Thanks all

Probably best then to get an EB/ED console to play with - should be able to get one next to nix in price or swap.

Wait and see.
Where else could you mount the TC. I was thinking of the roof but I don't think you could see it very well.
I have already started modding the original and I am off to ford to get the mounting hardware for the seat. That should be interesting!!!

For mine, I'm thinking having the screen in the upper inst cluster surround, buttons above where the demister button goes.
It'll need some cct board cutting and remodelling to achieve this obviously.

Snap, sounds like a good idea, if a bit fiddly.
re wiring wouldn't be an issue but cutting circuit boards is a hassle.
I used to make them in the airforce.
Very fiddly.
However might look at that myself.
Had to order some mounting bolts from ford for the centre seat, But the majority of them are not available. Off to bolt masters

Done it before with the climate control - think the TC boards might be multilayer maybe so will be harder.
Be cheaper to get your bolts other than ford as you'd guess.

Yes to the bolts.
The ones I ordered were a funny flat headed short bolt. $ 3 each.
I am going to have to try and find something that fits the holes first so I know what to get.
Ute is a panel beaters getting a new sill.
