Hey i dont really know much about gearboxes. but.. I got a xf fairmont ghia Sedan, I want a 5spd in it, It's auto atm, Im not sure about how to do it. Id take it to a mechanic but.. If i buy say:

gearbox
bell housing
fly wheel
pedal box
clutch cable
gear shifter surround
tail shaft

if i buy that? ill be able to put it straight in? or will i need a new engine. sorry if this is a stupid question, im learning:)

you will also need a spigot bearing an clutch plate an presure plate, to get a mechanic to do it you will be looking at a fair amount of money as its a time consumeing job to remove refit all the stuff needed its not a hard job to do so if you are pretty handy at swinging a spanner it wont be that hard
