Can someone help me with a procedure to change the water pump in my XH ute. How do I disconnect the water return tube ?

By water return tube, I take it you mean the steel pipe in the back of the water pump, that runs around the back of the block? It is a push in fit, sealed with an o-ring. It should come out quite easily once the pump is loose off the block.
Replace the o-ring when you fit the new pump.

The best "O" ring to use would be a "Viton" one.They're a hi-temperature type material,and you shouls be able to get one the same size as the original Nitrile Butyl Rubber(NBR) "O" ring.Just changed the two in my XG ute,the one in the tube at the back of the water pump,and the one in the thermostat housing.Both are the same size.
