Ah so the EF/EL/AU use an ED fan do they? (All I have done is changed the vacuum pack and fan resistor on an ED Fairmont heaterbox), I am going to be putting a proper EL heaterbox in my car but wanted to replace everything that I could while I had the chance, even if I have to pay that sum for a fan motor and rotor , just to save headaches down the track, especially if it's a dash out job :P.
So in addition, are there any significant differences between the heaterboxes besides the vacuum packs and Fan resistor unit. If I can save myself sourcing another heaterbox that would be great :P
Cheers for the advice, much appreciated :D

There are slight differences in the outlet to the dash. Have a look at BenJ's thread in the workshop section. :)

hiya smurfies papa, just wondering if an exhaust from an fg g6e is the same as one from an fg xr6t? ie, do they have the same part numbers? if not, do you have any diagrams available to show diffrences?
cheers mate

The ONLY difference is in the rear muffler/resonator. I dare say it would be the tailpipe extension? :D

i hear the cats are different though? wouldnt that mean the system would be a different length? would it bolt on to a g6e without affecting the engine light?

Hey papa smurf I am chasing the left hand front foot pad for AU roof racks. From what I can see the part number on the RHF is 07-2-204 if that's any help. I am hoping they sell this individually?

Cheers Nick

Thanks Papasmurf.

genuine ryco Z9? or genuine ford AFL1-MC?
trade i think gen ford ones are around $6, but george will correct me if im wrong

i went to buy a genuine filter the other day, the guy told me theyre crap and made in china now (he said thats what the mc stands for in the part number) anyway i ended up buying a ryco from him, i get home and notice thats made in china too???
i might have to start buying the genuine foprd high performance ones made in usa, $18 ea

AFL 1MC are made in Malaysia. They ARE a better filter than Ryco stuff and are $12.00 retail.
Maybe you should consider buying say 10 at a time and I could send to you? I will find out how much for postage. :)

BTW, I see nothing wrong with the AFL 1MC we sell and I don't believe that buying those
F1AZ 6731 AA ?? is a better buy. After all, you use them for say 10,000 klms and throw them away. If the engine is rather clean inside a normal oil filter will do the job and, the Ford one has bigger holes on the bottom of the filter as opposed to the z9. :)

Them AFL1MC we sell are crap i refuse to use any motorcraft filter from ford Australia. I use a BG9155A fuel filter of a FG. Because them AFG55AA leak all the time and cheper then the crap motorcraft filter . Me oil filter i will only use them D9AZ6731A as my oil seems to be a lot CLEANER with that filter & the cars seems to be running better compared to the crap AFL1MC we sell.

Also you will find the D9AZ6731A is cheaper then the AFL1MC

Are BA parkers bulb holders/looms the same size/part number? iv put non genuine XR headlights in a BA1 Fairmont and the parkers dont fit... the hole in the headlight is to small (or bulb holder to big)... probably a fault of the non genuine headlight but i thought maybe the XRs used different ones

Cheers Cam

No matey, the genuine harness is the same as are the sockets and globes, the only change is in a later made headlight for early model vehicles, but is only for GENUINE lights.

EF and EL 6cyl plus V8's are different but, I can't tell you EXACTLY why.
The only one still available is the EL 6cyl, EL 3C662 A $277.00
