More info before I check levels in weekend...

Slips only 2nd to 3rd.

Doesn't happen in Performance mode, only in Adaptive mode.

Checked levels, it was over full by about 2 liters but removing the excess fluid (new clean fluid) it hasn't really helped any, the issue may be slightly less apparent but still there.

Clutch pack?
Solenoid?

Man I hate autos

and this one seems to pull hard in Performance mode too.
