I have a 99 Fairmont Ghia (running the tickford 6) with a transmission problem. The car's gear changes are rough under anything than light load when the transmission is warm. In particular, the 3-2 kickdown causes a decent jolt and the 4-2 kickdown doesn't seem to be working at all (or only under 90% throttle or above).
I have owned the car for around three months and the roughness has been getting worse of this time. I have serviced the trasmission and fitted and oil cooler - without any real benefit. Can anyone suggest how to diagnose the problem. Could this be a band adjustment problem? THanks | ||

well for starters a proper service includes tightning the bands,,it sounds like an s5 problem..get it replaced and have the transmission properly serviced and see how it goes
