Could anyone tell me if AU and EB suspensions are interchangeable, front and rear shocks and all four springs. Cheers

Rear (if the AU is live axle) possibly, but I doubt it.

Front is a no.

pretty sure the rears would definately go in - but the fronts not 100% sure

Even though the front struts look identical, the springs are cone shaped on AU on. E series are all straight.

Also AU struts don't have the provision for the abs wire

If the spring companies have different
part numbers for an E series and
an AU, wouldn't they be different springs..??

HI
I have read a post somewhere on a forum (could have been another forum)that to overcome the k frame issues when putting a au engine into a el the guy used the au k frame and suspension and it did go in without to much hassle.. so i think the eb wouldent be much different so if you could put the au k frame and suspension in a el you should be able to put it in a eb..

the same guy also said that he had put the irs diff from the au in the same el.. but there was a fair bit of cutting and welding involved..

im not 100% on this because i have never done it..
but i can say i have read about it..

therefore anything is possible...

E-series front suspension is technically not double wish bone. There is a term for it, but I cant remember.

AU front suspension is a true double wishbone.

Look under the front of your NC Fool. See if there are 2 wishbones there.

God your an idiot - e series suspensions has a radius arm that supports the control arm against the k frame there fore not double wishbone.
Au changed to two cross members and doesnt have a k frame. They have an alloy one and steel one. The control arms is cast as a ssingle piece making it a double wish bone and therefore doesnt have any radius arm as it is incorporated into the Lower control arm.

know your facts before you start mouthing off

If youd ont know what yoru talking about dont bother posting here - too many idiots who think they know everything and cant admit they were wrong - thats you in a nutshell champo!
