I couldn't find too much information about the XR6 diff on the interest other than it's a 3.45 ratio LSD. Does anyone know what type of diff it is? Is it a Hydro-trac like the EF or did they go to the Detroit locker?

afaik only certain model xh ute got the hydratrack, this is a clutch type lsd similar to a kaaz type lsd..
none got a detroit locker... otherwise all the factory ford lsd's are a cone in hemisphere based lsd.. if anyone remembers really old school push bikes with back pedal brakes(where you go to pedal backwards to brake) this is a similar design to the lsd centres used. |

Pretty sure its a Borg-Warner, but not sure what model.
Edit: Everything I can find says it's a Borg-Warner 78 series.

*Bog Warmer
![]() My 'High performance LSD' tagged borg warner doesn't act quite so high performance anymore hehe They usually have a tag. A tag with a ratio and no sign of lsd or spin resistant diff would denote a single spinner in my opinion. Second hand cars can always have odd ball parts, wether they came like that or someone penny pinched on replacement who knows ![]()
