howdy all i was wondering if anybody can recomend somewhere for me to take my 95 ef falcon to get a auto to manual conversion and roughly how much it might cost....parts n ect

Source the parts yourself. Can be had for about $500.
Any mechanic should be able to do the job for you for about 5 hours labour.

ahh cool....what do i need to pick up? i know the gearbox and clutch pack....but what else? cheers

I see you have a EF 5Ltr? You cannot use a 6cyl box. It's also alot of hassle to use a AU V8 Box. So in other words you need:
* E Series Manual Pedal Box * Flywheel * Clutch Kit * E Series v8 T5 * Spigot Bearing * Clutch Cable A V8 T5 are also harder to come by. Expect to pay about $1200+ in parts if its a 5ltr.

cheers if i can not find a v8 t5 what would my other options be?

Essentially none - you don't have a choice.
You can speak with Barnacus who is a member on here who has swapped Bellhousing and lengthened the input shaft on a I6 box to suit - not many people have done this.

Athol Park Ford wreckers, will either do the job for you or sell you the parts you need. They seem to have the best assortment of parts for Fords in SA.

cool i gave them a call n all up including the conversion its gonna be 2750....is that a good price?

If I remember, an I6 conversion from them including; box, shifter, computer, clutch, flywheel, pedal box, clutch cable, was $1100 V8's may be more expensive depending on availability Plus say 5 hours labour @ $70 (not sure of going rate) I reckon they are about a grand too expensive. Find out just the kit price. |

the kit....so including all parts was 2250 and labout was 500
i thought it was a bit steep too but i phoned a few other places and the v8 gear box is a bit harder to come by so mabye thats y? but ohh well either way its got to be done the gearbox now is stuffed. besides that its done 211000 and just needs a new radiator i think its blocked and has been since i got it....gets a but warm n overflows the coolant sometimes if im stuck in traffic cheers |
