ive got bendix ultiments all round... i rekon there pretyy good just get pretyy dusty... just puttin in my 20c

i got lucas pads at the moment. i think i got them shortly after i bought the car so i've probably had them about 6 or more months. they're starting to give off a lot of dust though and they make noises when i'm cornering with the brakes on. good stopping though, i'm pretty happy with them.

Make sure there is no air in the braking system or no fluid leak. Also make sure you change your fluid with a good quality fluid n bleed the brakes properly. My pedal isnt feeling as firm as it 1st did, but not enough to make me bother to change the fluid again, it can wait unless it gets worse or bad.

My wheels take about two weeks to change colour When i picked up the fbt it had some race style copper pads on it, AWESOME brakeing for std rotors that were shot and the brake dust would send the rims BLACK and i mean BLACK within an hour of normal driving; i gave up cleaning them in the end, had to carry a rag around for brake dust, shocking!

It does. I need to put new front pads in soon and I'm going to use the breaking in method described in the article to do it right.

Nice find. Would be suprised if this wasnt covered in workshop manual and/or instructions that come with the pads. I always remember going with the old man to bed in pads after he'd changed em on his/old dear's car - was heaps of fun getting thrown around the car, lol. Certainly easy to overlook. Glazed pads are shocking tho - waste of good money too. Good to hear the pads are a success bluexr6

onli God knows wat i got....after reading all this and asking mates for advice i finally come to terms as to why the car constantly viabrates upon braking. thanks guys i'll get that sussed out next service

the pads in my XR are race pads (the same ones as used in the saloon cars).. awesome, not too much dust, but they SQUEAL!!!
cant remember the brand, or the price sorry. I got some cheap a.s.s $25 pads in my fairmont. They are very dusty.

no matter what type of brake pads u get u gotta bed them in properlly, otherwise ur pads aint gonna be efficent enough when they heat up and will also squeal anyway

I just did up the brakes on my AUII and went for some slotted RDA front rotors and Bendix advance as EBC greens not avail for the AUII front. The advance are street pads without the dust probs of the ultimates. They feel good not spongy and the big diffrence is how smooth my brakes feel now. i should have done the rotors earlier.
EBC Greens are the go if you can get them and afford them. By the way thanks to Cam at www.hightekbrakes.com.au good service and price including delivery to me in Sydney. |
