slipping transmission?..Accelerator cable is old & frailed needing to be replaced? stuck in limp mode?
check ur accelerator cable first, if its sloppy just adjust it and make it tight again so when u put ur foot down it will kick back a gear.

You haven't specified whether it is EBi or EBii...

EBi I am thinking is like the EA with a separate kickdown cable?

If it is the later type where kick down is computer controlled... Then I'd start of by doing a diagnosis on the computer system/transmission computer if it is separate...

Outside of that, I'm not real familiar with the internal workings of the BTR transmissions so I am unsure whether it is possible for something internal which doesn't show up on a computer test to cause this...

Cheers,
Tim

She's overdue for a transmission service mate. They get a bit lazy like that when they've been neglected.

I thought the 3 speed Borg Warner 51 was the last of the mechanical kick down auto's in the falcons and all 4 speeds wete electronic kick downs.

This is correct. If its a 4 speed, and it should be if its an EB, it will the the 4 speed Borg Warner box telling you its overdue for a service, at a minimum. could also be a slipping band on reverse, this is where 1st gear gets its kick down from.

only ea series 1 had the 3 speed auto with a kickdown cable, ea2 onwards had the 4 speed auto that relies on tps signal for kick down....
