The mrs old man has bearings & pads he bought for the EF and has said I can use them on my EB so are they the same between the 2 models?

yes, wheel bearings and brake pads are the same from ea to el

not quite,
you can fit ef/el rotors on NON abs ea-ed with no problems..
as the abs tone wheels have different spacing, so abs cars need the right rotor for that car....

i can say that 100% non abs rotors and pads from an EA will fit an EF, i just did it on my ef.
