g'day im sean ive been around for a while but this is my first thred lol. Anyhow i just bought a EB gli as the missus wrote off my EB xr6 and it seems to go into LHM every time i push it just past 3500rpm. this is the first auto i have ever had problems with so im kinda stumped for ideas. Has any body had this happan before? any ideas on what it could be would be a big help.

throwing around ideas, there could be a lot of slip in the converter, maybe like its low on oil or something and its struggling to figure it out.

histalls do a similar thing once theyre installed. needs to be programmed out with a chip

i was thinking it might have something to do with the converter. the dipstick reads full so it cant be fluid, guss ill have to throgh her on the hoist and take a closer look. any ideas on what a new converters worth?

my histall done this and i had to install a lhm mod from shiftkits.com

99% of the time a car goes into LHM its due to a solenoid defect.. so take the car to a tranny specialist and get them to check it out instead of doing the trial and error method

Is it an EB Series 1 (w/ TCM) or Series 2 (ECU controls auto)?

I wager it's a fault with the TCM (or ECU) or wiring for the vss input. The TCM/ECU will go into LHM if engine RPM goes higher than a threshold and the VSS doesnt also rise.

well i swaped ecu with my old 1 and nothing changed but im unsure on how to tell if its a series 1 or 2 all i can tell u is the ecu has 60 pins no cruse control or smartlock and the build date is: march 92
