Need to install new springs and shocks on my EF Fairmont Ghia. Originals are lowered. Want to go that way again but have no idea of what is on there - previous owner told me tickford from new.

I have seen these on ebay - anyone have any comments as its been years since I've had to buy suspension.

I've never heard of Selby springs, but Ultima shocks
seem to be a fairly popular choice here on Fordmods.

If you are after a tickford height, a "low" spring from
King Springs would equate. For the E series, these
springs are about 30-35mm lower than standard.

Hey there, yeah I got the exact kit in the front of my ED, They are pretty good in my opinion, the springs have fat coils and the shock body is big too, I've only got lows but there alot better that that f**k 10 year old monroe s**t that was in there!

Thanks very much to all that replied. I guess I'll be getting them then. I actually passed my wife while she was driving it the other day and I couldn't believe how much the wheels were bouncing.

Why are you thinking about changing the springs? Unless you want to go lower there is no point. Springs don't wear out.

Don't know actually - just thought I'd get them as a set. The originals have been on since coming out of the factory. Don't want to go lower - like the height they are. But now you have me thinking.

If O.E. works for you that's great, i suggest you keep it that way.

The coils on some cars can sag, but i haven't noticed any e-series or later falcons to have sagged, and even if somehow through incredible fluke yours have sagged, you say you like the height of them as they are anyway. Springs don't soften or anything, and i've never seen a spring crack or fail in any way, that i can recall.
