Should lower ball joints have a split pin

Post subject: Should lower ball joints have a split pin

Just got some new lower ball joints fitted to my EF and had a look when I got home and just wondered whether they should have splt pins or locking pins.

it depends on what brand the ball joints are some have a crown nut with a split pin and most aftermarket ones have a nyloc nut .
