so my EA doesn't like the rain and it made out with a gutter

i'll let the pics do the talking, but pretty much the car steers to the right and i dont think that its only a wheel alignment that i need, i took the wheel off and i think something is bent.

the front left wheel is further back than the front right (undamaged), i think it is due to a crooked bolt as you can see in the pics.

obviously this is unsafe and needs fixing, so can someone tell me what i need and how to put it on if there are any complications.

thankyou so much.

that upright is at a nasty angle.

You will most likely get raped for $$$ but my advice if you don't know what your looking at would be to take it to a suspension joint...I would suspect other componentry is damaged also

this has been happeneing to a few ppl lately.

it nearly happened to me this morning on the way to work, had a maccas coffee on my seat supported by my legs, turned right through a sweeping intersection, there was a bit more water on the road than i thought, and i was tired (woke up 15 min before) and not thinking, put my foot down, got waaay too sideways and ended up on the other side of the road, it snapped back and came around about 1m from the gutter.

hence, the reason i mentioned "burning balls" in the cupholder thread

You are probably looking at replacing the upper A arm, the lower control arm, and all the bushes on that side. Possibly the drag link, and it would pay to get the K frame inspected.

Could be a good time to do a front end rebuild.

Best of luck.

Chris

jeez louise, the EA's strike back! the second one in as many days...

its going to cost you as much if not more than your car is worth. Is it insured?

looks nasty..
i would say you need to pretty much replace lower arm, front track rod maybe stub axle ect
the top arm might be ok and the shock/spring asembly should be ok as its rubber mounted and will go back into position once you replace everything else..

to be safe you might be better off replacing the whole front left side.

thanks for the advice guys, worse than i thought.

i am not handy with the spanner but have a mate who uis a mechanic aprentice and will do it for free, so i'll head to the wreckers in search of some goods.

anyone wrecking a e series in sydney?
anyone know if i can fit EA-EL gear on the EA?

the upper arm looked fine when i took off the tyre, really just the steering knuckle that was at an angle which would explain why the wheel is sitting further back than it should...

was only doing about 25-30 aswell :?

anyway good luck..

those last repairs on my car were pretty much a waste of time and money as its gone now anyway..

I'd be replacing the radius rod without fail (about $20 from a wreckers.)
