Im looking for one as well. Is there a supplier is Aus for the MGW shifters? Do they bolt straight onto our T5's with out modifying anything?

MGW bolt straight up.
No Aus suppliers, must buy direct, but they're good to deal with.

They recently updated the design, mine is the older version.
The version prior to mine had two handle options, which they then consolidated to one 'average' handle for my version.

I'm pretty sure mine fits in the middle. (standard)

You won't be disappointed with the MGW, their engineering is top notch. Makes my T5 feel like.......well......not a T5:)

Having used an MGW Shifter before, know what it's like. I couldn't convince my brother to spend the cash buying a good Shifter for the T5, but given the sizeable truckload of coin going into the AU now, convincing him to pony up $200 for a Shifter with a $4k box, it wasn't hard.

With the adjustment and height, the MGW sits well in a E-series. This is mine in neutral.

They look flash...

Is it really just the handle that effects the shift stroke length? Not the actual pivot in the base? I'm not understanding how the angle difference in the handle makes a shift reduction... Is each handle shorter as well?

Cheers,
Tim

The pivot is changed, and springs added for 2-3 shuft help. The length of the handle is just to adjust it a little more. The angle doesn't really change much except knob position.

I think the distance between the pivot and the selector ball on the bottom is what makes it a quick shift. The different handles are slightly different lengths so they can offer different throws without having to make complete different models. That's how I see it anyway.

the thing is if you actually measure the pivot point between the short shifts and the std shift its the same, the only thing short is the shift handle.

the cheap one I had in my ed fell apart, the nylon bush in the centre had cracked and fell to pieces. so I pulled the std one apart to use its nylon bush and that's where I noticed the distance between the ball on the end to the pivot point was the same..

The MGW is different. Definitely different length between pivot and ball.

I had the cheap one from usa on the ed and a b&m on my au xr8 and both have same pivot points, hence the reason I ditched them and now using the factory one with modified handle.. not to mention the nvh transferred through the billet shift was driving be nuts..lol

That's a little odd? At one point (after my cheap one sh@ itself too!) I adapted the shorter stick to the factory unit, it was obviously shorter but didn't feel as short as the chinese or the MGW. And definitely didn't feel as slick and precise.
