well today i was driving my manual ea falcon and i was stoped at an intersection turning right and as i went to take of i fed it abit and it made this huge clunking noise i kept on driving cause i thought it was the exhaust that i had in the boot of my car just rollin back but then as i changed down a gear as i was pulling into my driveway it made the clunk again just as i let the clutch out. so then i decided i would just test it by just hiting the throttle on and off and it kept on doing it. so i got under the and while it was turned off and in gear i grabbed hold of the tailshaft and twisted it side to side and it made a slight noise, what does this mean? it there ment to be much freeplay in the tailshaft while it is in gear? could this just be the uni's? or could this be the diff? and i must add that the car felt realy sloppy in the back end when i changed gears........... any input would be greatly appreciated thanks everyone

the best way to decribe the sound mine made, with both the xe and fairmont come to think about it was just a really really nasty sound that just shouldnt be made from a car. not like an exhaust knockin on diff sorta sound.

lsd...the way to go....xe is now a full no brake rear end lsd burnout car....holds up awesome......fairmont is a write off....but well.....the people who caused that one, gave me a car....they just dont know it yet. lol
