Just got this snippet off another forum (googled) http://www.fordaustraliaforums.com/forum/showthread.php?40030-Ef-el-faults-amp-fixes-simplified

Quote:
if the throttle position sensor (TPS) fails, the transmission will shift erratically & may not shift to overdrive (torque converter will not lock)

nice hunting mate, interesting how something unrelated to the transmission can cause a fault in the transmission.

Hey guys,

Just came back from the transmission specialist, after getting the trany serviced and this problem fixed. He replaced the faulty (GEAR SOLENOID), and compared the the old with the new via a volt meter. The new solenoid stayed at a voltage of 28.0 while the old one was jumping all over the place and he couldn't get a solid reading, His positive that it was causing the problem ive been having.

Thought id let you guys know what it was, and to say thanks for your help.

Cheers lowlane98
