Hi guys I just replaced my 9 inch diff center with 4.11 LSD and I am wondering how I tell if the diff center I pulled out is a mini spool or a full spool. I dont know anything about them so I have no idea I figured out by counting the teeth it is 2.47 ratio now I just need to know if it is full or mini spool. Thanks

2.47 is a wierd ratio, never heard of that. on the crownwheel it normally says the number of teeth eg 30/10 =3.00 or 41/10 4.11 etc.
was the centre u pulled locked, if it had a full spool u will most likely see a silver spool centre on one side of the gears, mini spools are mounted inside the gear casing.
do a search on on google or speed shops for 9" spool and mini spools for pics

Yeah it was a s**t ratio I will have a look at the numbers on the wheel see if i can make anything of them.
Yeah the center I pulled out was locked I spent about an hour looking at google searches I found heaps of pics of spools but couldn't find any decent pics of one mounted in the center to compare with.

I did a google search on how to find out you ratio and the bloke said to divided your crown wheel teeth with the pinion gear teeth which that was 47/19 = 2.47

thats a full spool, crown wheel bolts straight to it, axles slide in, nothing more to it.

With a full spool do they put a cover over the shaft of the spool or will it look like that if you look at the gears in the center?

Thats a single legger centre...can't see if it has a mini spool, though.

whoops my bad, here ya go.

and yeah that looks like an open centre, if it's mini spooled it will be inside there in place of the spider gears...

this is a welded centre (not from 9"), basically instead of those gears, the minispool will be locking those shafts together...
