Okay, so I have a problem with the auto in both my cars, the ED (which is not currently on the road) has a horrible whine in 4th, and my EF is starting to get a whine as well.

From what i have have experienced, that is the whine of death. There is a particular bearing in the transmission that breaks up and over time will distribute itself throughout the gearbox in the form of metal shards and will eventually render it useless. The only way to fix it, unfortunately, is a complete strip down. I'll bet a million Mars Bars you'll find something metallic in the trans filter.
I'd be having a chat to this bloke after getting a professional opinion from a specialist: ford-parts-for-sale-f17/fs-ea-el-na-nl-da-dl-4speed-auto-t82484.html |
