Is there any difference between the 6 ecu and the 8 ecu or they the same?

Yeah there is, the ECU pulses injectors and such, and of course a V8 has an extra two. Also some auto Falcons ECU's also control the transmission, AFAIK all early E series V8's have a separate computer for the auto trans. I'd think a heap of sensors would be different too.

Yes they are different. The 6cyl ECU runs injectors in a batch fire setup, so either 2-3 injector drivers. The V8 runs sequential, so 8 injector drivers. Also the I6 runs a MAP sensor while the V8 runs a MAF
