Hi guys, just wondering what would be signs of my bov (stock) not staying shut? Sometimes when im giving my T some s**t, its like its not using all the boost its producing and when I change gears it lets off a louder than usual flutter or whoosh. Its been tuned and is producing around 340 rwhp at 8 psi, could that xtra bit of boost be to much for the stock bov to stay shut? I do regular maintenance to keep my boost solinoid from sticking so im pretty sure thats not the problem?
Any ideas? Thanks, Shaun. ![]() |

I dont think the xr6t has a 'blow off valve' as such but it does have a plumbed back pressure relief valve fitted stock which is kinda the same type of thing so i find it easier to just call it a bov, and yes it does have an internal wastegate that is controlled by the electric boost solinoid

The XR6 Turbo does indeed have a BOV. I have not heard of any faulty ones though. But may be an idea to upgrade the stock one if your boosting higher.
