My ef falcon has the front parking lamps coming on when I press the brake pedal, the brake lights work and when I turn the park/headlights on the brake lights come on and when I press the brake pedal the lights only brighten up a fraction. but ok when park/headlights are off. a short somewhere???? very strange.......

thats becuase you have a short.
OR
more than likely if you havent changed them, the brake or park filament has dropped onto the the 'other circuit' internally in the bulb itself.
OR
you have single filamanet indicator bulbs in the brake light position.

Replace them regardless...You need 5/21 'brake light globes'

I seemed to have fixed the problem, removed the connector to the brake switch, moved it around. heard some clicking noises under the dash. checked connectors nearby. might be the brake switch. only replaced it 8 mths ago. 2nd time. will keep an eye on it. thanks..........
