The chips are programmed to the car.
On the chip itself there will be a code, if you call chiptorque and quote this number they can tell you the specs of the tune it was designed for. I have a chip on my car that is for a cam, extractors and a sports exhaust. Google chiptorque for the website and find the contacts page, there is a phone number there and the receptionist is very helpful.
