MM if the car is hot and having trouble starting, and the alt is charging, which it sounds it is there is a problem with either a the starter motor or B. the wiring tothe starter motor A is the most likley cause get a new 1 or get it recoed at TOSSI AUTO ELECTRICS they rock

Put it in myself so no labor charges..... although when i started it it has a bit of a whine, just wondering if it takes a few starts for it to embed or if it should get a bit of lube???? Any suggestions? You serious? We just brought a couple of AU ones from fords direct, $110 each (trade price) as they can be modified to fit clevelands. The AU ones fit all models from EA onwards |

$110 for a starter motor is a fair bit less than trade price, cause a mate of mine who works at ford gets me trade price and its a lot more expensive than that. It was $130 cash job through a guy who overhauls starters for ford, and trade on a reco'd one is $176.

BA are different to AU and earlier. |

i can get the new bosch starter to suit xp-au for $100.

They're much better than the ones on the ea/eb's and sound better too. offyaguts - the starter brushes are probably just wearing in, which explains the slight noise. I've modified an ef starter to bolt to my 351 also.
