Can someone tell me in laymans terms the easiest way to improve the audio system on my 2009 FG xr6? Cranked right up it cannot compete with the stereo in my wifes hyundai i30. Are there settings that can be changed or is there an easy fix for this? My BA had a better system in it. Keep in mind i am talking about std audio systems here that came factory fitted.

to keep it as std as possible i would grab a small 4ch amp to power your speakers..that should make a huge differance, i dont know much about the FG audio but if there is a hole in the parcel tray for a sub id get a small monoblock amp and a sub to fit there aswell :)

As above mate...
I'm in the process of doing the same for my fg xt.
The only difference to most audio upgrades is that you don't have RCA feeds, so you have to use line converters on the speaker feeds...
What sorta coin did you want to spend? How far do you want to take it?

I would at least like to know the best settings to have on the set up i have. Then i would also like to know what is involved in changing to the premium sound that was available as an option on this car. I realise the icc unit has to be changed, but what else is needed, and doesnt the icc have to be programmed to the vehicle?

As far as tuning goes, just put on a song that is typical of the type of music you listen to (for me, hill top hoods)... Then just fiddle with the settings, turning them up until you get distortion, then back it off a touch. The type of tuning your talking about is typically just to suit your style... No hard and fast rules really, just avoid distortion.

For the ICC, yes a new ICC will need to be paired to the vehicle. Any ford service centre can I it for around $50 I think. But I don't think it would be worth it. They are very expensive.
I would put the money into aftermarket door speakers and if you want to take it a step further a 4 channel amp.
