							Hi team,
My HD exedy has started smoking during powerskids, now I’m on the hunt for a new one. Will the exedy heavy duty CUSHION BUTTON clutch be much improvement to hold that power. I understand heat is the killer and I don’t have the money for a twin plate plus this time I won’t go so stupid every corner lol. I want to be able to drop 470hp and hold it without the clutch failing. Budget is around $1000 unfortunately. Cheers.

You can get hybrid clutches which are ceramic on the pressure plate side and organic on the flywheel side. im not 100% sure if they will hold the sort of power your chasing in a falcon, but they are fairly decent to drive with.
im pretty sure thats what my uncle has in his 600hp mustang. Here's a mob in vic who I've used in my old EF falcon. It was only holding 170RWKW but it never had an issue. He makes them from CI stuff i believe. good bloke if you want some advise and heaps cheaper than excedy if price is what worries you: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ford-BA-BF-X ... 7f1&_uhb=1 |

ah, if u give him a buzz im sure he'd have one to suit and would let you know wether it will hold the power.
what fun is driving without a "spin wheels now" pedal? |

Honestly it will be more than 1k for a clutch that will cop that power. The only suggestion I have is a Mal Wood Option 3+ or speak to Jim Berry race Clutches.

This clutch is tested to handle 450hp....but it isn't for a Ford though.....was $500 + freight.
Wonder if something is available similar to this for your Ford ?????.

If you want to handle that power your going to have to get a twin plate mate or stop driving it hard.

Actually, after having the need to look into this for my brothers ute, it can be done. For me, it's come out at $874US for a clutch and flywheel, but I still need a CSS. That's for a clutch from SPEC Clutches, rated at 750lb/ft. I'm putting together a setup to take hopefully 375rwkw NA, and over 400rwkw with some giggle gas up its a***.

Fidanza Billet aluminum light weight Mustang 5.0 flywheel v's EA.
Attachment: Clutch Industries GT 5.0 clutch and pressure plate v's EA Attachment: Attachment: This combo, although quite a bit heavier pedal, has as good if not better feel than stock and should handle 300+kw no problem. Will smoke two in 3rd no probs, chirps into 4th when flat-changed. My box will let go long before this clutch does. All up including spigot and clutch bearing and ARP flywheel bolts, cost me less than $900, delivered. Direct bolt on fit. Nothing modified. (EA box in EF, yes it is complaining but it was cheap)
