Hello, playing around with the dizzy 351c on my Ford f100 70 model and took the dizzy out but had the shaft attached to it that rotates the oil pump? Anyway i put the shaft back in the hole and now I cant get the dizzy back into the block and its not flush with the block, try everything rotating the rotor, and no luck, any ideas please

The oil pump drive shaft hasn't dropped back into the oil pump correctly.
Happened to us on the weekend actually.

There is suppose to be a special washer fitted to the oil pump drive shaft to stop this from happening.

Next question is how do I get the shaft out, need longer pliers? and when I fish it out how do i know to fit it in properly? thanks
