I have about 10,000 miles on the truck and no CEL. The engine actually seems to run surprisingly efficiently, getting 19 MPG when cruising under light load.

But under moderate to heavy load (like going from 65mph to passing speed), the engine seems to knock, with the usual engine pinging.

Other than trying a higher octane, do you have any specific history of knocking on your ford 4.6l?
