Hi, got a 2003 Ford Fairmont Ghia, and currently looking at lowering it while also getting new springs as my current ones are chopped from prev owner. there are a set of webco shocks/lovells springs on ebay im looking at currently and they're supposedly only built to suit any ba-bf models but not for a fairmont, just would like to know if this is false as im almost certain they all share the same components, but would like to make sure/not spend nearly a grand for it all to go to waste.

Hi, most parts from the BA/BF interchange [and some from the SX/SY] BUT you need to be careful with the front springs as there are two differant springs to suit. you need to look at what front springs are there and confirm if they are tapered or not. which ever one they are you need to match that for your front shockers OR get a matched set [shocker/spring] as that i 'think' is the only differance if swapping from the BA/BF1 style front suspension to the BF2 style. so the BA/BF1 uses the tapered spring & the BF2 [approx 2007] uses a shorter spring with a matching shocker. believe the Ghia used the XR springs as standard? but some people go lower.
hopefully that made sense.. |
