hey guys. i still do not understand this 4 ohm and 2 ohm stuff. my speakers are 4 ohm and my amplifier put out 35 watt rms at 4 ohm and 50 watt rms at 2 ohm. now becuase i am running speakers will it only put out 35wattrms.
could some explain how the ohm theory of amps

Ummm easier to give links then explain this stuff methinks:
http://www.gcaudio.com/resources/howtos/spkramp.html http://www.rexc.com/services/ohms.htm http://wolfstone.halloweenhost.com/Tech ... ching.html And yes, your speakers will get approximately 35wrms. Although the impedance doesn't remain perfectly constant across frequencies.

its basically the load on the amp, the lower the ohmage the more load but louder the sound, just remember 1 ohm is almost a dead short. why car sound can go down to 2 ohms is because of the amount of amps the battery can put out as opposed to home hi-fi, the transformer and bridge rectifier would be the size of a slab of beer!!
