its deffinitly not a gear box problem but when i put my foot down the car can actually slow down and has a big loss of power could there be a blockage in the jets or maybe a throttle problem?

i drive a eb 4 litre but the problem is with my girlfriends car.

possible causes to check are fuel filter,fuel pressure,air flow meter if it has one,blocked cat and maybe plugs and leads. Also check cam and ignition timing.
