I got my system regassed with the new (ozone friendly) gas for old systems a coupld of months ago and it is frickin' cold. My wife reckons it is almost too cold and she always turns the temp on the CC up.
It cost me $55. The system works better than it did before with the new gas.

*grins* i know a guy that's got half a dozen bottles of R12 sitting in a shed.... bought them for his tractor airconditioners when R12 was phased out..... wont part with any at any price
apparently FR12 (the interim replacement at the time) was a blend of R12 and R134a, but i havent been able to confirm that happy, generally yes, the nastier it is to you/the environment, the better it works.... asbestos brake/clutch linings take a lot of beating....
