you don't need to take that surround out dylan, but anyways - i just smacked my old one off with a hammer, slid the new one on a little way, and put the nut & washer back on and did them up, which pushed the new stalk into place - just don't push that bolt back as who knows where it might go!

i know for a fact i've told you this before dylan!

the stalk will only go on in one position - you need to match the square opening at the bottom with the position the bolt is in - then, slid it on a bit & refit the washer & nut - do up the nut & it'll force the stalk on to where it should be!
