HI ALL I HAVE A PROBLEM MY SMART SHIELD THE REMOTE WILL NOT OPEN THE BOOT THE HAZARD LIGHTS FLASH SO THE SIGNAL IS GETTING THERE BUT THE MOTOR WILL NOT WORK I CAN OPEN IT FROM INSIDE THE BOOT OK
. ANY SUGESTIONS? |

Some punctuation might help! I guess that you mean the button in the car doesn't work either?

just check fuses, give the dash above your left knee when sitting in the drivers seat a bit of a hit - that's where the BEM (Body Electrics Module) lives. if the trigger wire has come loose, it won't let you open the boot. could also be a bad connection inside the BEM itself.
Forgot to ask - does it open by key?

check the linkage from the actuator to the look mechanism. same thing happened on a vt we had in the other day.

If the actuator is faulty or the linkage disconnected, and you can't access the lock from the rear seat all is not lost. A trick posted here before is if there is no other option then go to a wrecker or car yard and checkout the linkage position. Then remove your number plate and drill a hole so you can access the linkage and pop it from there. Then get a rubber bung to plug the hole and keep the water out.
